The hare is a creature rich in myth and folklore, often symbolising rebirth, intuition, and transformation. In Celtic mythology, it was believed to be a magical being connected to the moon and the Otherworld, able to cross between realms. In many traditions, hares are messengers or shape-shifters, associated with springtime and the cycle of renewal. Their elusive nature and nocturnal habits have long linked them to the mysterious and the mystical.
 
The mini etching within the brooch has been created with archival paper pressed on my etching press and oil etching ink. Acrylic gold embellishment.
The brooch is made of metal backing and glass cabochon.
